IE6 only knows the mail clients it knows. You can't teach it to do Gmail. What you can do is configure Gmail to do Outlook/OE and teach Outlook/OE how to do Gmail.
1. Go to Settings in Gmail, click Forwarding and POP, "Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on" (unless you want to switch all use of Gmail to Outlook/OE, then choose "Enable POP for all mail"). 2. Set up Gmail in Outlook or Outlook Express and then choose one of those in IE6. http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?ctx=%67mail&hl=en&answer=12103 To continue to have all of your gmail available from the web browser, click the Outlook/OE option setting "leave a copy of messages on server".
