My 2 cents:

I have installed IE7 on 15 systems and had 1 failure and 14 successes.

The one failure was crashing IE7 on our own website's javascript menu.
I uninstalled it but after that IE6 was suddenly doing the same
thing. Doing a System Restore did something to the user's Roaming
Profile causing me to set it up all over again.

I tried it again later in the day in case there was something in the
original profile that had caused it but it happened all over again -
it was a long day yesterday ;-)

Next step will be to wipe and reinstall Windows but they can run on IE6 for now.

Personally, FireFox is still my first choice. The extensions I have
installed (and there are many) make it a far superior experience, even
if it does chew up memory.

No problems to report here at all. :)

So, I'm confused. What is supposed to be the benefit of a "new and
improved IE" if it doesn't work with the sites that you need to access
on a daily basis?
