If your interest is in a municipal area try your local authority - Many of them have higher resolution pictures of the local area than you will get from organisations that map countries/states.
National organisations tend to limit the resolutions to 1:50000 - which matches the largest scale maps usually available for the public, doesn't take extraordinary amounts of storage and provides insufficient detail for them to be accused of breaches of privacy by identifiably showing people, and aiding intruders by showing the structure of fences etc. Again - it may be that contacting organisations that actually do the photography will be willing and able to tell you for whom they have done such work.
