For those interested, Firefox 2.0 is available from the Mozilla FTP site:
http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0/win32/en-US
/
Quite a number of the previous version FF extensions have not yet been
updated but I suspect most of them will be shortly. One in particular is
RoboForm but they are always quick with their updates; by tomorrow would be
my guess. A number of users report that 2.0 loads pages faster, but with a
satellite connection during 'prime time' the daily slow down precludes a
meaningful conjecture on that from here. Anyone interested should be able to
do a web search for changes from previous versions.
I downloaded and installed it without issue, but see no reason to switch my
default browser from IE6/Maxthon. I DO like having FF available but since I
am not one of the "avoid anything Microsoft at all costs" types, I do not
feel compelled to change.
FWIW...
