Does Windows XP home support dual core CPUs?

On these links:

It apppears it does not.

But with these links:

It appears that is supports dual core processors with  at least SP1.

I'm confused because of the terminology used as seen here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-core_%28computing%29
