Hi everyone-

I have been keeping uptodate on my debianized laptop with the latest
unstable releases and have brought down several new updates to X4.0.1 from
them. One of the recurring threads is that the option "backingstore" does
not seem to work even though xdpyinfo | grep back finds it activated. The
main problem is that when another window overlays the win4lin window, the
screen is blackened out in win98 where the overlying window occurred. Its
interesting to note that this did not happen at all with X3.3.6 but the
drivers for my laptop were not the best there. Now I have pretty good
laptop drivers (I have a Dell Latitude Ls) but the backingstore option seems
to not work as shown on the netraverse support archive.

Is there a plan to spin off FAQ materials for different critical components
like Xfree86 or Accelerated X, etc? I am curious if I could get Accelerated
X laptop drivers to do better than X4.0.1. Anyone using them with win4lin?
