In your kernel compilation do a "make xconfig" (make menuconfig ... whatever
you usually do).

Under Processor Type and Features, there is a "Maximum Physical Memory"
option.  You need to change that to from 2GB to 1GB.  If you happen to
have more than 1GB of memory in your system, and you want to run win4lin,
then you should apply the "bigmem" patch.  Note that there are a few
"bigmem" patches floating around.  You want the one that RedHat includes
in its kernel SRPMS.
