Ugh. First, after configuring everything, Windows shutdown hangs at the
cleared DOS screen.
Moving on, I installed IE 5.5 SP1, apparently successfully.
Then, the security patches on windowsupdate, which failed before it
prompted a rebeoot. Now upon loading win it BSODs with:
"Invalid VxD ... call from MRGTP(01) + 000031F0 to device "0028",
service 801C.
I ran unloadwindowsCD, then reinstalled 98 through winsetup.
However, I did not completely wipe the "drive" before reinstalling,
which is next on my agenda.
I see no mention in the docs that windowsupdate is not recommended
or whatever.
