Just having a few initial thoughts about the possibility of porting the
wine icmp dll across to win4lin.
Would I find support for raw sockets in the win4lin-winsock, does anyone
know?
Alternatively one could go straight into the linux/bsd sockets. We
provided provision to do either in wine-icmp (I see that feature is
still there Francois!)
(It would be nicer to use the win4lin-winsock - part of the point of
things like ping is to check out as much of the route actually being
used as possible)

I guess the other problem would be the licence :-(.
wine-icmp is already a right mish-mash of BSD headers, public domain
ideas from Mike Muus' original ping , and the wine licence, modelled on
X IIRC.
