Mike:
I think the Win4Lin users understand that you can't commit to an exact date,
but a ballpark would be nice, like "We hope to release a new beta version in
about a month give or take a couple weeks." I've been writing software for
over 20 years and have been a Linux user since the early .99 kernel days,
so I do understand what's involved.
It's hard for us to understand what the delays are when 2.4 has been in
final testing for months. The 2.4 prereleases should have given Netraverse
plenty of time to update win4lin to be compatible with the changes in 2.4.
>From the sounds of things (please correct me if I'm wrong) Netraverse hasn't
even started working with 2.4 yet.
It shakes user confidence in your product when it sounds like Netraverse
burried their heads in the sand in regards to 2.4. Things are no different
in the Windows world. MS releases versions of Windows well ahead of time
for software developers to have time to update their software to be compatible.
We users only have a tiny pinhole view of whats happening inside your company.
>From other comments I read on this mailing list, it sounds like most users
would really appreciate it if Netraverse was a little more open with
information about upcomming releases.
Thanks for your time.
