John, have you activated the port via winsetup and given win4lin users
access to it?
As root, run winsetup
1) Select 'modify devices'
2) Select custom (top of menu)
3) Select ecp1 port option
4) Change access from root to all
5) Save
As user, run winsetup
1) Select win configuration
2) Select "devices" a
3) Toggle on ecp1 (right side of dialog)
4) Save
I think that should get you going.
