Hello all,
Recently I created a /var partition, and moved the contents of my
existing /var directory into the new partition. This partition mounts
automatically, and is visible to the system. However, after I did this,
I am now getting the following error message when I try to launch
Win98:
MERGE_NL: dos: ERROR: Win4Lin drivers are not loaded.
Cannot run DOS or Windows. Either Win4Lin is not fully installed
on your system, or the drivers cannot load.
I am wondering if maybe the permissions on the /var directory may have
been changed while I was working with it. /var shows as drwxr-xr-x for
its permissions, and the win4lin subdirectory is drwxrwxr-x. Both
directories have root as owner and group.
Can anyone confirm if this is correct or not, and/or whether I am even
looking at the right source for my problem?
I am running Mandrake 7.2.
