I can tell you it did. I can't remember how I set it up (I am kicking
myself for destroying my ~/win directory). I may have specified the server
as an IP address, but this could have just been one of the things I
/tried/. I remember "logon authentication" had to be set to "none"

It was good because if I needed to receive a mail quickly I could bypass
the latency in Exchange's POP server and flick into Win4Lin and run
Outlook 2000. I had to fill in the username/domain/password box every time
I started it, but that was a small price to pay.

My installation had update 4 installed.

There was some discussion in September (thread: "Outlook works") but it
seemed to involve half-installing some networking clients.

Has anyone else ever run Outlook against Exchange, or did I have some kind
of "Johnny Five" [1] of an installation :-)
