This is a shot in the dark but...there are some problems maintaining
the data stream between devices that are on the same ide channel.
This shows up mostly when writing CDs and isn't a Win4Lin problem but
rather a Linux problem.
I'm wondering, however, whether it's possible that you're being bitten
by this. Is it possible to do the CD load from one channel and the HD
write on another?
