and you have of course got an appropriate entry in /etc/lilo.conf
and have run /sbin/lilo to make sure the loader knows the absolute
addresses (running with the appropriate switch, see man lilo, if there's
any chance the kernel is beyond the 1024 cylinder boundary?)
