Hi-
Sorry about the contenless message I just sent. Hit the wrong button
before I finished editing. Anyway, I've been having real problems with
win4lin sever since I changed over to a new laptop (a Dell Inspiron
4000). I can't get win4lin to run when I enable the COM1. It freezes
my system almost instantly. Spurred by the messages below, I decided to
try win4lin without the sound drivers loaded and then it works fine with
COM1 enabled. Thus there seems to be some interaction between the sound
drivers and win4lin.
In my case I'm using the ALSA drivers for the Maestro3. Sound works
great on the Linux side with this driver. Also, on my old laptop (a
Thinkpad 560e) I was able to use the serial port and the sound drivers
(and sound worked from win4lin).
