Hi: I have installed Win4Lin 2.1 eval version on two systems, a Suse 6.2 at work, and a 7.0 at home. On the 6.2 system, there is no problem. I run a W95 program called "AVR Studio" that is a development environment for Atmel AVR microcontrollers. I try to assemble a test program, and on the 6.2 system, it works fine. However, on the 7.0 system, the AVR Studio program complains: "ERROR: unable to create temporary file "uasm.tmp" I then find in the directory that my assembly program is in, a zero byte file uasm.tmp. The file is being created ,but the program doesn't seem to be able to get past that point and finish its task. On the 6.2 machine, no trace of that uasm.tmp file is left after a successful assembly. Any clues? I have looked through general permissions settings through my home directory, and nothing seems odd. I haven't made any configuration changes to the Win 95 installation. This behavior occurs on the 7.0 system after W95 is first installed, and the AVRStudio program installed after the next W95 bootup. 6.2 works, 7.0 doesn't. Any ideas appreciated. -- _____________________ Christopher R.
