Do any specific messages get reported to the log? Also, what are the
contents of $HOME/.xsession-errors?
Are you running anything special in the kernel, or is it stock? Have you
tried building your own kernel? That might resolve some incompatibility
between win4lin's kernel build and your setup. It does sound like a
win4lin patch problem, although I've never encoutered it before.
