You can symlink the ~/win directory to a location on the local drive (say
/var/users/<user>/win). If people go to different workstations and log in, you
can have the real win directory live in ~/.win.real or something (ie, on the
network) and when they login or when they start win4lin you can rsync the local
and network directories and similarly rsync back when they finish. This would
require a reasonable amount of scripting and config, and you would probably
want to have a locking setup so that they are only able to run win4lin once
regardless of how many times they're logged in.
