Ever since upgrading to Win4Lin-5.1.1c-1, I have had font strangeness.

For certain programs the text displayed as I type something in to a field
gets scattered across the screen randomly. For example, in Outlook Express,
the To: CC: and Subject: lines are unreadable when I enter something into
them. The body of a mail message is not affected, so it is still somewhat
usable.

This I have lived with for some time because I saw a reference some time ago
to this and the response was something like, "we don't see it, but wait
until the next version". I've been patient.

Just today, however, I began so see something new. URLs in the body of mail
messages are displayed as a sequence of small vertical boxes (like the font
is not installed). If I highlight the text it is readable until I
unhighlight it. Also, window titles and menu titles on background windows
are similarly garbled. The only commonality I can see is that both the URLs
and the menus are colored text as opposed to black text on some other
background.

I have installed no new software in the past month and rarely login as root.

Any ideas what this is, or how to fix it?
