You have SbLive! - right? And perhaps you connect your speakers via digital
output? SbLive! drivers have problems working with standard Linux mixers,
especially for digital devices. In your kernel sources look for the SbLive!
driver tree (I don't know where it is in MDK8.0), it should be called emu10k1
something. In one of the subdirectories you'll fing the code for a small app.
called dm (file dm.c). Compile dm and run "dm unmute" followed by "dm 80".
This should let line-in through to SbLive and output. This worked for me on
kernel 2.2.18 in MDK7.2, YMMV.
