I'm not sure about your friends screw, but.. Mandrake is supported by the
software, but
the Mandrake 8.0 kernel is not on the cd. It is supported via the online
update feature of
the installer.
The kernel files will be available in due time via an http download site in
the members
section of the web site. The ftp server will be phased out. The member site
is open for anyone
to get an account, free of charge.
