I took the plunge and upgraded my v2.0 install to v3.0. Completely painless! The shear size of the README file made me hesitate upgrading since, if I had to reinstall Windows, it would be difficult for me because my laptop does not have a CDROM drive or built-in floppy. Win4Lin works great in winsock mode, but I was interested in using VNET. I didn't see the option during install, so I tried 'win_network -v'. I was able to install the merge NIC, but Windows constantly told me my network configuration was incomplete. After rebooting Windows several times I finally gave up on VNET for now. This morning, after reviewing some postings, I thought I would try again. This time, I got a different error message: $ win_network -v ln: /home/bobman/win/windows/system/icmp.dll: No such file or directory Sure enough, there is no file 'icmp.dll' on my machine, except for my other Windows partition.
