Here's the way I resolved the Quicken backup problem a long
time ago:

First of all, my Quicken files are on a Win95 partition. My
Win98 in win4lin has Quicken installed, but it pulls up my
bank files from the Windows partition. I configured the
Quicken backup function to backup Quicken to a directory off
my linux home directory which is in a separate partition. I
use this backup every time I use Quicken. (Actually, these
partitions are on two different physical drives too, which
is even better protection.)

In addition, about one or two times per month, I use KisoCD
(a KDE application) to save the backup directory to CD-RW
media. KisoCD allows you to do multisession. I have two of
these Quicken backup CD's which I rotate back and forth.
The only problem with KisoCd's multisessions is that, even
though I'm only backing up about 3MB each time, the space
used up on the CD keeps growing. But I figure... when one
of them becomes full, I'll just format it and start over!
It will take a long time for me to get there. ;-)
