I installed W4L with NO problems on my Mandrake 8.0 system. Thanks
Netraverse for the fine product and free upgrade.

I am especially pleased with the new networking, it makes printing much
better (can print directly to the network printer) and makes using my
VPN a breeze. I was especially pleased to see that I could get IPX /
Novell access working through the VPN - I'm taking a stab here but I
reckon that since the merge network client doesn't understand IPX that I
am getting IPX / Novell access through the VPN's tunneling of the IPX
packets directly through to the MS VPN client (which DOES understand
IPX). Anways it's slipping IPX packets into the system and I get my
Novell 3.x server access- pretty cool.

Can someone email me the afore mentioned win4lin.xpm? I would be willing
to post it on my web site and make the link available to the list.

One thing I did NOT appreciate about the new W4L 3.0 install is the fact
that you are forced to download the installation through the installer -
not having broadband access at home made the download VERY long and
tedious. Netraverse, I also resent the forced registration ala MS
Windows XP. Both these policies are a step in the WRONG direction and
just put a chink in the armor of a wonderful product experience. To
many more "features" and Win4Lin and I will part ways.

I also really resent the slow response to your establish user base with
the free upgrades, don't get me wrong I am exceedingly happy with the
free upgrade - woulda paid for it anyways - what I resent is having the
carrot dangling in front of me and having to wait a few weeks for the
upgrade license to be made available. And then (as stated previously)
having to DL the thing via dialup - when I could have snapped up RPM's
in a flash from my T1 at work. I hope that Netraverse isn't starting
down the path of pissing off their long time users like MS already has.
I would heartily recommend that you throw more resources at the upgrader
issues the next round, either that or just don't release the thing till
the upgraders can be satisfied.

Over all I rate it a good job by Netraverse. But they are quickly
stacking up hash marks against them with the new policies and slow
response to established users.
