This is a known problem with the most recent versions
of the installer on Mandrake that results in the seg fault.
(Currrent version 3.0.3)
It is a bug in the installer, and has nothing to do with libraries.
The fix is being tested and when I am sure it will be announced
when it becomes available.
The problem with libsafe has to do with it apparently screwing
up some of the utility programs that are a part of Win4Lin,
causing them to seg-fault. This can result in lots of different
symptoms, because whole underlying functionalities are not
working at all.
Of all the different versions of
libsafe out there it would be good to get info about which
version seem to be compatible with Win4Lin and which do not.
If you have a system that is running libsafe and someone else
hasn't reported a comparable success/failure of Win4Lin, could
you post the version of libsafe you are using?
