I haven't tried, but are you using WinSock networking, or VNet?  It should 
work under VNet, as that is a "real" IP connection, as far as Windows is 
concerned.

Proxy?  Why proxy?  You should be able to connect without specifying any 
proxy settings.  If you are behind a proxy, you configure that in Linux, not 
in Windows (unless of course, you are using VNet).
