I've been very successfult with grabbing the kernel 2.4.5 sources from 
kernel.org, and applying the supplied patch for Win4Lin.

In fact, I am running kernel 2.4.5 with ext3 journaling filesystem and 
Win4Lin.  There was a few spots I needed to manually apply patches since both 
the patch for ext3 and win4lin both affected ~/include/linux/sched.h  in two 
spots.
