I had a similar problem very recently. I was executing the old installer
in my ~/dl directory instead of the one in /usr/bin. This was due to
ignorance. I should have been using /usr/bin. Naturally, this falls under
the "user error" category.

Despite these things this erroneous and ignorant user is reqesting that the
win4lin installer either:

    - update the installer in /usr/bin && the one in the directory where it
      was executed from
                                or
    - check for a newer version elsewhere on the system and alert the user
      of there presence

There's probably a better way to handle this, but this is just my initial
impression.
