I have resolved the Signal 11 error message. I did as suggested and
installed a fresh copy of windows (backing up the current one first). Then
after starting it successfully a couple of times I decided to copy files
over one at a time from the old copy and see where it caused the error. As
luck would have it the first file I copied over caused the error.
The file was autoexec.bat. Upon closer inspection a recently install
application had made a couple of entries in the path that made no sense.
After fixing the paths the error went away.
Now I am a happy camper as I don't have to reinstall every application.
Thought this might be helpfull just in case someone else this the problem
in the future.
Cheers
