Clearly there are a lot of us who hadn't seen the posting on the
Netraverse website, which I quote here:
There is a known issue with a plug-in file in the Adobe Acrobat 5
installation. The file is called docbox.api located in
c:\\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Reader\plug_ins\InterTrust\
You will need to delete, remove, or rename the file so that Acrobat will
properly load. The removal or deletion of this file does not affect the
normal functioning of Acrobat.
InterTrust, the authors of this plug-in, is addressing a fix for this
issue and will incorporate it into a future version or bugfix release of
Acrobat reader.
I'm posting this right away, so I haven't yet checked it out for myself.
