: I have what they called hard-coded windows 98 2nd that I
: have got from UT.
: It is a windows for students and as far
: as the computer services know, the serial number is hard
: coded on the disk.
: To use in a brand new machine a boot disk is needed.
:
: I've got the boot disk but I can't install windows. It
: keeps asking for the
: serial number which I don't have since it supposed to be
: hard coded on the
: CD. Have anybody tried to install such version of Windows 98?

In most cases, where the registry is preset with the key, the key is
also located in a text file on the root directory of the CDROM.
