You can configure Winamp to do a lite install, it strips almost everything
out if you do that. I've also been able to keep the toolbars and stuff off
my system using lite install.

Subject: M3u Playlists

Hello everybody

I am given to understand that some older versions of Windows Media Player
will not handle .m3u playlists when called from a browser. Is that correct
and, if so, is the only workable solution something like VLC or WinAmp? We
are a little reluctant to install Winamp under our Windows 7 64-bit
operating system, because of the fact that it's now so bloated and full of
useless junk which we would never use. Also, their distribution of the
Google and Winamp toolbars doesn't do a lot for our confidence. Installing
anything Google causes the system to write home to Google once every hour or
so, to report your activities to them. We feel this is intrusive to say the
least.

Lynne
