Hi Sarah

yes, but I guess I should have made myself clear. Yes, you can dub like that.
But what I am after is intelligent mixing. In other words, say we have a music
track. Then, we want to add a voice track, with the music track faded by about
50% or so, so that the voice track is clearly audible. But it doesn't stop
there. When the voice track pauses, the music comes back up again slowly to
the full level or as close to it as possible using smooth fading until the
voice track kicks in again when, of course, the music track dips again to its
50% level. That kind of work is often referred too as "Voiceover" work.

That isn't the same as just plain dubbing, it is intelligent mixing. The 50%
fade estimate may be a little excessive, that would depend upon the level of
the voice track, of course. You see where I'm going here? I should have made
this point more clearly.

Yeah you could use gold wave but if you wanted to add reverb or what not, it's
awful in gw. I fyou wanted to add stuttering audio you could by copying and
pasting the chuck you want to stutter and pasting it over and over and over
again. I like multi track stuff as I can nudge audio clips I paste in where I
want them to be. You cannot nudge audio in gold wave. you have to be exact
every time. Oh gw is grate and i used it for years but when someone wanted me
to do a voice over with sound I used at the time adobe audition which was worth
using in 2007 but now is not. Yuck!

Good luck
