Hi all

Anybody using RollBack RX 10 from
<http://www.horizondatasys.com>
might be interested to know that there is a command sequence which you can use
to defragment your drive using third party utilities such as Microsoft's own
"Defrag", or Diskeeper Pro 12/later.

I will outline the procedure below for the reference of anybody concerned, then
it will also be stored in the list's archives. Here is the sequence you need
to follow:

In order to disable RollBack, execute this command from the command prompt:

shieldcmd.exe /defrag enable | Enables Windows /3rd party Defragmentation
utility. Note: using Defrag will actually produce inferior performance to
defragmentation of your baseline snapshot using RollBack. So unless you're a
Diskeeper user, I would strongly recommend that you don't bother with this.

Post-Defragmentation, follow this sequence:

shieldcmd.exe /defrag disable | disables Windows/3rd Party Defragmenter

Once you have followed all of the above steps, you must update your RollBAck
baseline. To do this, use the system tray icon and double-click, (press Enter)
on the RollBack RX icon. Then, under the "Advanced" tab within the task list,
click on "Upate Baseline" (Note: I deliberately said "Upade" rather than
"Update" because despite my informing them numerous times, they won't fix that
little typo.)

I hope some find this little article of mine of some use.
Kind regards
