Hi! I have a Voice Sense and have been enjoying its functionality for 6 weeks now.
The model I have is fairly old as I bought it Second-Hand but perfect! for what I want, I'll be adding a Braille display to the front of it shortly and I have to admit that I envy very much! <smile> those of you who use a Braille Sense Plus or Braille Sense iHand, wonderful machines. Back to the point of the message, my only real annoyance was not being able to print directly from the Voice Sense to my HP Officejet Pro 8500A+ printer. Whilst the Voice Sense will support a USB attached printer it will not support those which use PCL5 and - to my knowledge - the Voice Sense won't support networking printing. There are of course some workarounds, I could put the file I was working on with the Voice sense onto a memory card and put that either into the printers memory card slot and work with the HTML interface of the printer or I could put the memory card into another computer etc but there had to be a far better way surely! It suddenly dawned on me a few days ago that my HP printer had a "Email And Print" function, this works using the HP ePrint web site, you set up an account and you're assigned a unique eMail address, send documents here and they'll be transmitted to your printer either for storage or for immediate printing, you set the options as required. So there we are, I'm printing quite happily from my Voice Sense now. I can also emboss from the Voice Sense to my Moutbatten Brailler and this took a little time to set up. The MB has a USB port but no drivers for the Voice Sense. The MB also has 2 serial and 1 paralel port so what could I do.
