I'm sorry to have to say this but Sony Sound Forge is very much over hyped even
for those who have sight.

Firstly the software is very expensive in my view and you really don't get a
lot of value for your money.

There are - to my knowledge - 2 versions of Sound Forge, the cheaper version is
Sound Forge Audio Studio and of course the more expensive version is Sound
Forge Professional.

With the cheaper version, what you pay for it doesn't get you very much at all!
say when compared to Goldwave, Total Recorder etc and I ought to know as I have
all those 3 products.

I'm still shaking my head as to why I bothered with Sound Forge Audio Studio,
had I known the programme feature set then I just wouldn't have bothered and
anyone who does buy it is really just buying it for the the fact that it has
the name "Sony" prefixing the Sound Forge bit, that's the only reason I can see.

Sound Forge Pro is still riddled with bugs which aren't likely to be fixed.

>From a blind computer users point of view, Sound Forge has accessibility

>which have been introduced as time has progressed -, I have to admit to being
>still quite amused when I see blind people writing to audio lists and the like
>about this, they're banging their collective heads against the Sony Software
>wall, if Sony haven't done anything about these issues in 13 years then why on
>earth would they bother now!

Total Recorder has shown a shining light when it comes to Value For Money
software in Sound recording and editing, I have to often scratch my head when I
realise that the Pro Audio edition is only $35.00, how long can High Criteria
keep giving away good software? <smile>.

Total Recorder's editing capabilities are pretty snappy and incredibly flexible
and versatile.
