Hi all

Given the recent reduction in the prices of GW Micro's products, my other half
decided that I would be allowed a copy of Window-Eyes 8.2. I have played with
it quite a bit this afternoon and here are a few things I have found.

Firstly, using the BrailleNote as a terminal via a USB port, WE is way way more
responsive than it used to be, not to mention reliable. It also easily
out-performs NVDA in terms of Braille. There seem to have been some changes
made to WE and a lot of the Braille configuration options seem to have gone.
This is a definite regression, if it is so, and I'm hoping that they have
simply been moved because things like whole word mode seem to have gone.
Another thing I don't like is the fact that you now don't seem to be able to
turn of the status cells. These are a total waste of space quite literally and
if you cannot disable them it is a travesty.

Also, the responsiveness in Office 2010 has deteriorated drastically, to the
extent that cursoring up and down in a document sometimes results in entire
lines of text being skipped. Sorry, this is in Word, not in Office, the latter
is way too generic.

I will play some more, but initial findings are mixed. I still kind of like
the NVDA interface. What I did find though is that with WE, I was able to gain
access again to RollBAck's entire interface. This is not visible at all under
NVDA.

Kind regards
