Wine ate my registry!

Testing the current CVS, the first application I ran worked fine but all
later ones failed with strange errors. Investigating I found that the
registry files ~/.wine/system.reg, user.reg and wine.userreg had all been
truncated to 24 bytes containing the message:

Wine Registry Version 1

and nothing else. Fortunately I have backups...
