For what it's worth, Microsoft has a separate download package of MFC for end users that is identified on its site as the "Microsoft Libraries Update." <http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/default.asp?p>. The installer is the same file name for all Win32 systems, SPEU.EXE. I'm in wind-down mode for some medical leave so didn't have time to evaluate the accompanying license extensively, but it may be more lax than the Visual Studio license for developers. -- Paul E.
