Hello all. I have a quite uncommon problem. Most of you will never notice it. Newly introduced code pages support in x11drv works very good with unmanaged windows, making it possible to have ANSI encoding within Wine and use another encoding in X font. For instance ANSI code page in Wine for Russian locale is 1251, while native encoding of russian fonts in X11 is koi8-r (cp 20866) or even iso8859-5 (cp 28595). In unmanaged mode Wine draws all text itself and of course makes all things right, i.e. translates text to encoding of target font. In managed mode Wine just calls XStoreName(). Here is a problem. Wine does not know encoding of target "caption" font and text in "managed captions" is just unreadable. Can it be solved? And how? The only way I think could help would be to know what font X will use for captions and then recode text as in unmanaged mode. What do you think? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Dmitry.
