Hallo, as Mike is presently working on the serial port, I want to tell that I work on parallel port direct ports accesses. I have working code that allows me to do such accesses as user via PPUSER/PPDEV. So before anybody else enters this area just an information... However there are unsolved issues with configuration and possible uninterruptible blocking ioctls that I need be solved before I can submit a valid patch. I can however send the patch on request... At present the patch also handles the opening the device and storing of needed related information on the user side. This has also to be pushed on the server side...
