This discussion hasd been on the newsgroup too: - some program is
missing an registry entry and renames some folder. So now we have more
information:
The program in doubt is Explorer and the directory is the "Program
Folder"
Now rename the "!\$!\$!\$!\$.\$!\$" directory back, run explorer again
with debugging +relay,+reg and look before the directory rename
operation what registry values are queried and not found. Rename back
again and add that directory value. Rerun and look if the rename
happens again, perhaps creating more registry values. If at some
point, the rename happens no longer, post the results.
