I don't think it's worth the trouble at all. When the fix is harmless,
as in this case, it can just as well stay in forever, there's no point
in removing it and possibly breaking something else in the
process. And if the fix does cause unwanted side effects then it
probably shouldn't be included in the first place, making it expire
doesn't help anything.
