   Well, I'm not in France but I do sometimes use my qwerty keyboard in
'US-International' mode so that I can get some of these French
characters... via dead-keys. Of course it seems like half the Unix
applications don't support dead keys and the other half don't support
accents.
   So one day I thought I would try it in notepad under Wine. After all,
*all* (well, >95%, the exception being old versions of the brain dead
Visual Cafe) Windows applications support accents and dead keys. No
such luck. Wine does not support them.
   So I did what all of us do, I used a Windows computer instead and
typed my text in notepad :-(((.
