that's version 2.4.20-2.34 but any kernel starting with 2.4.20-2.30

We might want to run some tests to verify the new threading
code is actually present and working. Maybe run some
of the regression tests that come with NGPT or NPTL, say.
Otherwise it's possible the new system is still using old threads.
