Now somebody else seems to suffer a perhaps related problem, and we offer a donation for fixing it. This certainly doesn't really pay for anybodys time, but perhaps it's a sign. Bear in mind that I also spent many hours in pinpointing the problem, and did my best in providing a small to-the-point executable example, source code, and logs. (You'd like my web server demo content ;-) It's as much on a silver tablet with red velvet as I can present it. Would be a shame to have it rot in bugzilla.
