Dearest Ancianos and Sh@W Community,

I wanted to make sure that you had received JoAnn's obituary that was
published in the Fayette County Record
<https://www.fayettecountyrecord.com/obituaries/ayres-0> last week. It has
more details about the upcoming service and ways to honor her memory.

If you would like to write Doc (he is deeply enjoying and cherishing the
letters he's receiving, especially with stories of JoAnn) you can reach him
at his Houston address:
Village of Tanglewood
1600 Augusta Dr, Apt 243
Houston, TX 77057

I had a lovely visit with him in Houston yesterday. We spent time talking
about our plays for Camp Shakespeare next summer (here's a hint: both plays
involve taking an oath! What is the end of study? That is the question!),
the novel *Lonesome Dove *(which I am reading for the first time), the film *My
Cousin Vinny* (which turns out was one of JoAnn's favorites!) and the
origin of the word kenning and other figurative phrases in Norse poetry
like "whale-road" to describe the sea. Like any great visit with Doc, it
was filled with discovery and laughter and tears and questions and
connections. If you find yourself in Texas or the Houston area this holiday
season, I know he would love to share a visit with you too!

Sending big love to each of you— far and wide— as we all move into the
holiday season and the new year.

With Love,
Robin Grace
