Here's the summarized version of the discussion from the IRC. - Most of the discussion was about infrastructure and initial steps to get us moving toward a codebase.
- Started off with me usurping the agenda and talking about our conclusions of the HP source base as a good seed for the trunk. In hindsite, we should have had a little more discussion here in terms of merits of HP over IBM. But everyone seemed comfortable going the HP route. [Bryant will follow-up with more details on why HP over the IBM code.] - Discussion turned to build automation. The suggestion for now is to use Hudson instead of Contiuum for daily builds. Both Dan Kulp and Jason Dillon volunteered to get this setup for us. - There will be some work to port the IBM test bucket that's in "contrib". This has a number of tests above and beyond the 1.0 TCK functionality and should drive a few JIRAs. - JAX-RS 1.0 is a primary goal for the first release. There are other bits that will come in as a part of this (ability to run without Spring for lifecycle management). - Dims (others) were curious about OSGi enablement of the HP runtime. There is no support for this currently. - The HP runtime has embedded providers for ATOM and JSON. These will be used initially in lieu of Abdera and Jettison respectively. - The HP team was interested in the JAXBContext configuration/caching code availabe in the IBM code. This can be ported over. -Nick Nicholas Gallardo WebSphere - REST & WebServices Development [email protected] Phone: 512-286-6258 Building: 903 / 5G-016 Nicholas L Gallardo/Austin/I BM To [email protected] 06/24/2009 07:13 cc AM Subject Architecture IRC summary For those that missed it, I've posted the log of yesterday's discussion under the "Minutes" section. http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/WINK/Architecture+Meeting+And +Agenda I'll update the wiki with the actions that came out of the meeting and post them there as well.
