One thing that the columnist noted, however, is that the test run of this internet democracy tool was on the issue of a McDonald's being located in a state park - and not some loftier political discussion. But, as has been overstated: all politics is local. The location of a new McDonald's effects people's daily lives as least as much as who gets nominated to the Supreme Court.
